nautic.blue is a specialist in maritime services. The focus is on training and further education for skippering sailing yachts.

My Offer

Often, the first sailing license is quickly obtained, but there's a lack of experience and self-confidence to safely skipper a yacht. Here I can help with special training, coaching, or individual deepening and further education. The palette ranges from safely mastering simple maneuvers under sail or engine to special topics such as support for the first charter yacht takeover or accompanying transfers, developing routes or passage plans, and sharpening knowledge areas like tidal or astro navigation.

Experience

For years, I have been sailing on different ships in various waters. Annually, I spend several months at sea. This experience is incorporated into my training and coaching.

Professionalism

I am trained and certified as a sailing instructor, both professionally and didactically. For several years, I have worked as an instructor for various sailing schools in the Mediterranean, Atlantic, and UK.

Safety

Experience, foresight, routine, and constantly updated and re-certified Sea-Safety Trainings according to STCW guarantee you the greatest possible safety on board.

In cooperation with sailing schools, I offer practical training from practice trips to Yachtmaster education. Complete training paths up to the sailing license can also be completed.

Long Distance & Mileage Trips

PASSAGES FOR MILEAGE COLLECTION

 

Longer legs are sometimes unavoidable or are planned from the outset. This means significantly different preparation and other requirements for ship and crew. This needs to be practiced. For some sailing licenses, it is a prerequisite to demonstrate long-distance passages, or these trips can also be used to build up mileage requirements.

A good knowledge base is the equipment for a good skipper. Of course, the focus is on practical applicability. I offer didactically well-prepared knowledge transfer with a strong practical relevance.

Which sailing courses are offered?

I offer sailing courses from beginners, completely without prior knowledge, to special courses in tidal waters or ocean passages.

Depending on the agreement, private training, group training or courses within a maritime school are possible.

Are theory courses also offered?

Yes, my portfolio includes the entire range, from FB2 to FB3 to FB4 theory. Additionally, I can also offer radio courses (SRC).

Can I book directly or do I have to contact an organizer?

Both :-)

If you want to register directly here, you can either do so via one of the courses offered here or, if there is no suitable offer, contact me. I am happy to arrange an appointment.

You can also book your training or trips through one of my partners. I can also recommend something here. Who will be deployed as a trainer for the respective course is, of course, a matter for the respective school. 

 

Are exams also organized?

Yes. I work with several examination organizations. Both theoretical and practical exams can be organized here.

And yes, we are exclusively talking about exams where the Austrian examination regulations according to JachtVO are complied with and which lead to obtaining an IC.

Are RYA courses also offered?

Yes. As an RYA Yachtmaster Instructor I am authorized to hold all courses up to Yachtmaster Ocean.

However, these courses can only be conducted through an RTC (Recognized Training Centres). I work with RTCs and can advise you here or coordinate appointments.

About Me

 

As an Austrian, I am often asked how one gets from a landlocked country to seafaring. Well, firstly, the nearest port on the Adriatic is only a few hours away, and secondly, not all residents of a coastal state live on the coast. So far, so simple. In fact, origin probably has nothing to do with it anyway, opportunity does. I live not far from one of the larger inland lakes, which with its over 300 km² offers enough opportunities for sailing.

As a yacht owner, I also know the pitfalls of technology, as well as the worries and needs of yacht owners.

A few years ago, I switched from being a hobby captain who spends a few weeks a year on charter yachts to the commercial side. This required intensive training, which I am now happy to pass on.

I am not a sailing school and not a maritime school. There are more than enough of those. I make my knowledge and experience as a sailing instructor, training and transfer skipper available to those who offer such services. I work with training centers and agencies whose quality awareness matches mine.
