my services
Often, the first sailing licence is quickly obtained, but the experience and confidence to safely operate a yacht are lacking. This is where I can help with special training, coaching or individual in-depth courses and further training. These range from mastering simple manoeuvres under sail or engine to special topics such as assistance with taking over a charter yacht for the first time or accompanying you on transfers, working out routes or passage plans, and sharpening your knowledge in areas such as tidal or astronavigation.
Experience
For years, I have been sailing on different ships in different areas. Every year, I spend several months at sea. This experience flows into my training and coaching.
Professionalism
I am trained and certified as a sailing instructor, both technically and didactically. I have worked as an instructor for several years for various sailing schools in the Mediterranean, Atlantic and UK.
Safety
Experience, advance planning, routine and, last but not least, continuously updated and recertified sea safety training in accordance with STCW guarantee you the greatest possible safety on board.

Training & practice cruises
KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER
In cooperation with sailing schools, I offer practical training courses ranging from practice cruises to Yachtmaster training. I am also happy to provide complete training courses leading to a sailing licence.
Long-distance & mileage cruising
PASSAGES FOR COLLECTING MILES
Longer voyages are sometimes unavoidable or planned in advance. This means significantly different preparations and different requirements for the ship and crew. This requires practice. For some sailing licences, it is a prerequisite to prove long-distance passages, or these trips can also be used to build up mileage requirements.

A good knowledge base is essential for a good skipper. Naturally, the focus is on practical application. I offer well-structured teaching with a strong practical focus.

About me
As an Austrian, I am often asked how someone from a landlocked country can become involved in seafaring. Well, firstly, the nearest port on the Adriatic Sea is only a few hours away, and secondly, not all inhabitants of a coastal state live on the shore. So far, so simple. In fact, where you come from probably has nothing to do with it anyway; it's more about opportunity. I live not far from one of the larger inland lakes, which, at over 300 km², offers plenty of opportunities for sailing.
As a yacht owner, I am also familiar with the pitfalls of technology and the concerns and needs of yacht owners.
A few years ago, I made the switch from being an amateur skipper who spends a few weeks a year on charter yachts to the commercial side of the business. This required intensive training, which I am now happy to pass on.
I am not a sailing school or a nautical college. There are more than enough of those. I make my knowledge and experience as a sailing instructor, training skipper and transfer skipper available to those who offer such services. I work with training centres and agencies whose quality standards match my own.
